Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about what RunVector does, how your data is handled, and whether it's right for you.
Getting Started
Do I need a Garmin to use RunVector?
Yes, RunVector currently works with Garmin only. You connect your Garmin account during signup and your runs sync automatically. We’re working on integrating other providers in the future.
How long does setup take?
Under five minutes. Create an account, connect your Garmin, and your training history starts syncing immediately. Pick your goal (first marathon, chasing a PR, or analyzing your training) and you’re in.
Is RunVector suitable for my first marathon or half marathon?
Absolutely. One of the onboarding paths is built specifically for first-timers. You get a training plan for half or full marathon designed for your experience level, a race time estimate based on shorter races you’ve run, and daily guidance on what to run and when to rest.
Your Data
What data does RunVector use from my Garmin?
Your runs (distance, pace, heart rate, elevation, splits), plus recovery data like HRV, sleep, and stress scores. We sync about a month of history when you connect, and new runs appear automatically after that.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your training data is yours. We don't sell it, share it, or use it to train AI models. Only you can see your data. Full details are in our privacy policy.
Can I delete my data?
Yes, completely. Go to Settings and delete your account. Everything is permanently removed. You can also email privacy@runvector.io.
How RunVector Works
How do marathon predictions work?
You give us a recent race result (any distance) and we estimate your marathon time. The prediction accounts for your training volume, the course profile of your target race, and expected weather. You get three scenarios (optimistic, realistic, and conservative) so you know the range, not just one number.
How does RunVector know if I’m fit or just tired?
We track your fitness (how much training you’ve built up over weeks) and your fatigue (how hard you’ve pushed recently). The gap between them is your form. When form is positive, you’re fresh and ready to race. When it’s negative, you’re carrying fatigue and should ease off. Your dashboard shows all three, updated after every run.
Where does the marathon course data come from?
We compile it from official race websites, published course maps, and public sources. Each race page shows when the data was last verified and links to the official site. Always double-check details with the race organizer.
Pricing
What does RunVector cost?
Nothing right now. RunVector is in beta and completely free. No credit card, no trial that expires. You get full access to everything.
What happens when beta ends?
We’ll introduce paid plans eventually, but we haven’t announced pricing or timing yet. Beta users will get advance notice before anything changes.
Compatibility
Does RunVector work with my existing training plan or coach?
Yes. RunVector analyzes whatever training you do. It doesn’t matter if you follow Pfitz, Hanson, Daniels, or a custom plan from your coach. The analytics, predictions, and recovery tracking work on your actual runs. The built-in training plans are there if you want them, but they’re optional.
Can I use RunVector alongside Garmin Connect?
Yes. RunVector doesn’t replace Garmin Connect. It reads from it. Keep using your watch and the Garmin app exactly as you do now. RunVector adds a layer of analytics and predictions on top.
